About Bea

Bea has worked with dogs for 30 years and has competed in dog agility for 18 years.

She has been teaching agility for 17 years - both for fun, and for competitions. She also has experience in dog behavioural handling, nutrition and obedience training.

All her training methods are reward-based, with treats and toys.

What gives her the most pleasure is not a dog clearing obstacles - but the joy on canine and human faces as they do so.

Most dogs naturally gravitate towards Bea, she has such a deep bond with them. They want to be with her and she, with them... It's very much a two-way thing!

Testimonials

“I have been taking my Jack Russell Penny to classes for some time now, and she always has such fun whilst learning with Betty. I am sure it has helped her social skills too, as she can be a tad aggressive with some dogs. However, all that is forgotten as she concentrates on what she is doing. The classes or one to one are excellent, and Betty really knows how to get the best out of the dogs whilst keeping it fun for all. There is a complete course of agility equipment set up and it is in an enclosed field, so perfectly safe. I'd definitely recommend Mad About Mutts Dog Agility, with a big approval woof from Penny too. ”

“Betty Curtis has trained my daughter and her dog for 3 years. My daughter was very shy and found it difficult to run her dog in front of everyone. Betty is excellent at developing relationships with the people she teaches. She has shown amazing patience and understanding with my daughter which has helped her grow in confidence and develop as a handler so much so that she was able to enter competitions last summer.”

“Canto and I have been coming for shy of a year to Mad About Mutts, and we love it! The course is in a safe enclosed space, and Bea is great at showing us what to do. I don't want to compete - it's a fun activity for us - but it's definitely deepened our bond, and we look forward to our Sundays on the field!”
